Who are you?

Hi, I'm Ghostie/Ghost. This is my little (personal) place on the web I guess. I'm a 20-something year old who's trying to figure out life and herself. I'd say I'm a pretty decently creative person. As someone who has a tendency to be extremely ambitous/fast paced, lately I've been trying to teach myself to just...do things because I want to? Also to just slow down a little before I give myself cardiac arrest trying to be in my 40's when I'm only in my 20's lol.

Why Make this site?

Honestly I just browsed a ton of sites on here and thought they were cool. I wanted to hop in but since I'm externally motivated I'm using the "excuse" that I'm practicing HTML lol. I kind of don't like the social pressure that comes with posting online nowadays, as someone who likes productivity the concept of "upload schedules" just kinda stressed me out. It makes me feel better knowing I "own" this place so it gets updated on my terms.

My Thoughts on "Old Web"

So about that, I'm not old enough to remember "the old web" and I'm not going to pretend like I do. Geocities died in 2009 and I did not care nor know because I was in elementary & unfortunately listened to my parents who didn't want me going on unknown websites. So, my teenage years (and henceforth, online presence) took place largely in the 2010's. I remember the old Deviantart and some aspects of older Youtube, but other than that I was in the generation where Old Web was starting to "fade-out" but not quite there yet.

However, I do like the concepts Old Web introduces. A free and open internet, the ability for users to customize their own place online, and a permanant reminder to corporations who the internet is used by and therefore who is giving them their money.
